Zapraszamy na XIV Seminarium Feministyczne: „Feministyczna instytucja kultury”

Tematem XIV Seminarium Feministycznego uczyniłyśmy sytuację kobiet w instytucjach kultury i wobec tych instytucji.

Pragniemy zastanowić się w jaki sposób obecny czas pandemii, nadchodzący wielkimi krokami kryzys ekonomiczny i majacząca na horyzoncie zmiana cywilizacyjna zmieniają sytuację artystek, animatorek, menedżerek kultury, kuratorek, krytyczek i innych pracownic pola sztuki. Czy kobiety mają szanse na wykorzystanie czasu zmian i zrewolucjonizowanie instytucji wedle własnych potrzeb? A może istnieją już w Polsce miejsca realizujące kodeks dobrych praktyk instytucji feministycznej? Czy jednak nie dzieje się tak, że kobiety wciąż znajdują się na straconej pozycji jako te, które neoliberalny kapitalizm umieścił na dole hierarchii prac i płac? Z jednej strony interesuje nas symboliczny i materialny status kobiet w polu sztuki, a co za tym idzie – ich opiniotwórczość i prawa pracownicze, z drugiej zaś – diagnozy i teoria wytworzona poprzez kobiety, ich wizje przyszłości instytucji. Interesują nas nie tylko konkretne przypadki, ale i „instytucja” artworldu w ogóle.

Czekamy też na pociągającą nas wszystkie utopię, która da nadzieję na feministyczne instytucje służące wszystkim: bytom ludzkim i nieludzkim.

A cordial invitation to the 14th Feminist Seminar: “A Feminist Cultural Institution”

20 June 2020, noon – 3 pm, lokal_30, Warsaw

The 14th Feminist Seminar held in June concerns the situation of women in cultural institutions and in relation to such institutions.

We wish to reflect on the way in which the current pandemic, the imminently approaching economic crisis and the civilisational change looming on the horizon transform the situation of women artists, animators, cultural managers, curators, critics and other professionals in the field of art. Do women have a chance to tap into the period of change and revolutionise institutions according to their own needs? Or perhaps there are already venues in Poland that implement the feminist institution code of good practice? But is it not the case that women are still in a losing position as those relegated by neoliberal capitalism to the lowest echelons of the hierarchy of work and pay? On the one hand, we take interest in the symbolic and material status of women in the field of art, and therefore also their role as opinion leaders and their labour rights, while on the other hand – in diagnoses and theories developed by women, their visions of the future of institutions. We focus not only on specific case studies, but also on the art world “institution” as such. We are waiting for a universally compelling utopia that will offer hope for feminist institutions at the service of everybody, both human and non-human entities.
