Bliskość – intymność – dotyk. W tych trzech słowach można określić wyjątkowość performance’u Joanny Rajkowskiej „You never touched me like that”. Artystka wchodzi w interakcję z drugą osobą, ich twarze są filmowane, a obraz jest pokazywany na dużym ekranie, jednak – paradoksalnie – towarzyszy im poczucie intymności i kameralności. Wszystko za sprawą otaczającej ich ciemności, z której światło reflektorów wyłania jedynie ich twarze. Dotyk dłoni artystki na twarzy drugiej osoby jest przez uczestnika performance’u przyjmowany i odtwarzany przez niego na twarzy artystki.
Spektakl opowiada o nostalgii za końcem, potrzebie dotknięcia, zarejestrowania czyjejś, czyjejkolwiek twarzy. Żyjemy w epoce katastrofy klimatycznej, masowego wymierania, rozciągniętego najprawdopodobniej na dekady naszego własnego życia. Gatunki znikają z powierzchni planety jeden po drugim. Potrzeba dotknięcia, zapamiętania, doświadczenia kogoś fizycznie to czasem wszystko, co możemy zrobić.

We are waiting for you this Friday at 1 and 2 p.m. National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul!
Closeness – Intimacy – Touch. These three words encapsulate the uniqueness of Joanna Rajkowska’s performance „You Never Touched Me Like That.” The artist engages in interaction with another person, their faces filmed and displayed on a large screen. Yet, paradoxically, the performance conveys a profound sense of intimacy and privacy. This is achieved through the surrounding darkness, where the light of spotlights illuminates only their faces. The touch of the artist’s hand on another person is accepted by the participant of the performance and mirrored by them on the artist’s face.
The performance is about the nostalgia of the end, a need to touch, to register someone’s, anyone’s face. We live in the era of climate catastrophe, of mass extinction, stretched over, most likely, decades of our own life. The species are vanishing from the surface of the planet one after another. A need to touch, to remember, to experience someone physically is all we can do
